ORANG UTAN CONSERVATION - SUMATRA

Did you know that there are only around 9,000 orangutans left in the world? They only live in the wild in Sumatra and Malaysia. That's why FERNWEH HEIMWEH supports the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Program, a project set up with a lot of love for the conservation of this unique animal in Indonesia, for every kilo of coffee purchased. BUKONZO JOINT COOPERATIVE - UGANDA

Our FERNWEH HEIMWEH highland Arabica coffee comes from the Bukonzo Joint Cooperative in Uganda. It is firmly in the hands of women: 85 percent of the farmers are female. In addition to marketing, the concentrated female power also takes care of granting small loans and training its members. Learn more

THE PLASTIC BANK - PHILIPPINES

Together with our partner Plastic Bank, FERNWEH HEIMWEH collects more than 11 tons of plastic from nature in the Philippines every year - plastic that can no longer end up in the world's oceans. How do we do it? Together with Plastic Bank, we make plastic so valuable as a commodity that it is no longer worth simply throwing it away: The social enterprise Plastic Bank pays the population in developing and emerging countries money for their collected plastic waste, which is higher than the usual market value.
